"November"....A Month of Quiet Preparation

Sunday, November 2, 2008

It is Monday, November 3rd......Today begins a few quiet weeks of designing, sewing, & creating. I have project, after project to accomplish this month!....Some of them are for "client's",... some are for my "etsy shop",... some are projects for "my own home"... & many are projects that will be wrapped & turned into" charming Christmas gifts for family & friends". This is a time that I so look forward too!...even though I will find myself immersed in hours of following patterns, standing over the ironing board & listening to the steady hum of the sewing machine....it will also be a time of great accomplishment. I am so appreciative of these weeks before Thanksgiving, that allow me to calmly think & plan & work......resulting at month's end,.... in "happy clients"....a "well-stocked shop"....a "cozy & comfortable home"... & "homemade gifts", all beautifully wrapped & tucked away.....Join me, in a month of preparation....Come December, you will be so glad you did! .......Enjoy the month!......

I've been sewing my little heart out for Christmas too but I have to pretty well be done by Halloween in order to make it. I'm almost there though. My job picks up so much and money gets so tight bz my husband's work isn't as busy so I have to be done by Halloween. Take care and enjoy your month sewing. The fabric looks very pretty and I'm sure it's for some phenomenal projects!

I agree! This is a time of preparation. It's always been so at this time of year - harvest, preparing for winter, and so on. It may not be all that necessary in today's world but long ago it really was important. I believe we women still have the sense of it within us.

That is such a great way to put it. I have about 3/4 of my Christmas gifts made, now I can focus on swaps, making things for my Shoppe and fun stuff for my home!

What a peaceful post this was to read. Love it! I used to make many, many gifts and then when I started up my business, my sewing machine really went untouched. For the first time in years I have a few sewing projects I am planning. Yes, November is the month for that sort of thing.

Have fun, Heidi! I've been making my lists, checking twice already, and much is underway. We're going to the US just before Christmas, so I have to get Christmas ready now--LOL! The days are flying...But such good days! Happy Sewing, my friend ((HUGS))

I'm inspired!! I haven't started a thing yet..been working on a baby quilt for grandbaby #2. What are some suggestions for this year? Last year I made shopping bags for everyone - like 7 each. It almost killed my 30 year old machine. btw I'm adding you to my blogroll - looks like a site I want to visit often.
