"The Humble Charm of Quilts"......

The only thing better than one quilt,... is a pair!.....
In the last few days, I have been washing & drying all my quilts!.....Now I am ready to hang, drape & arrange them all over this tiny house of ours!...There is nothing that adds quite as much charm to a home as "quilts" do!!!....Partly "historical" & partly "domestic",... these lovely pieces of Americana warm up a space.... & create that intangible feeling of "peace & contentment". So whether you choose to "display" a lovely quilt on your wall or simply "cuddle up" under a warm one tonight,.....incorporate the "humble quilt" into your home & into your life......

A house is not a home until there is a homemade quilt in every room! I hope your settling in well.
Beautiful pictures. I wish ANY room in my house looked like one of these. Is this your new nest? Love it!
Hi Heidi, I love love love this post. I am a quilt girl and I drape, hang, layer them at every possible place in my house. I can't wait to see what you do. My favorite though is to snuggle in one in the morning with my coffee when I first get up!
Have a blessed day,,

I absolutely love your quilts. I'm actually taking a class tonight to learn a pattern called "Peter, Paul, and Aunt Mary" it's got lots of curves and I'm nervous. I'm learning this bz my son's fiance' really likes this pattern and picked out all the material for it. It should be interesting. I agree too that a quilt cozies up a room!! Cindy
{Swooning} Love all those pictures!! Beautiful and inspiring!!

Hello Heidi; I so agree with you about Quilts. I just love how they make a room look so cozy and inviting. I love the photos of those beautiful rooms and lovely quilts.

Love this post!!! Heidi, maybe you can help me! I have two beautiful quilts that my great great grandmother made in 1890! I want to display them, but due to their age I'm not sure how best to do this without encouraging fading, dust, or compromising the fibers in the fabric. It's amazing the maticulous work done in every hand stitch! Any ideas? Thanks so much! :-)
I do like that quilt behind the bed! Very tasteful! My daughter has the most amazing quilt my Grandmother got her. I need to take a picture and email you....such a work of art! My in-laws are really into quilting. It is nice to see such different and beautiful uses and displays of them! Keep posting!! xo
I know just what my next project for me is going to be.....a quilt as a bedhead.
I have struggled for ages to try to make one and have not got to it. Was going to cover board with fabric...but just never did it and did not think of a quilt as a bedhead.
That is why you are a designer and I am not....vbg,
Thank you for that great idea.
I do not normally have a quilt on my bed but maybe I am coming close and I can make a pair.
What lovely pictures. I enjoyed seeing all of the pretty quilts. laurie

Hello Heidi Ann,
I am new to your blog and I must say I have enjoyed my visit. Have you ever heard the song "Sandra Heidi Ann"? It's by Michael O'Brien. I love him, well his music that is. You should hunt that song down and listen to it if you haven't already. Now, about these gorgeous quilts. Well, I love them. I have always wanted to learn how to quilt and my husband is game to learn too. It is such an art. His Aunt Opal has won the FL State Fair's GRAND CHAMPION for several years and my Grandmother use to hand quilt wonderful pieces and bedspreads and shams for all of us grandkids. They are cherished items. Thanks for sharing your post with us. I'll be back soon.
Warmly,
Alisa
