"My Time"......
Sunday, July 20, 2008
It's Sunday morning,... not my traditional day to start dieting & exercising...but I am starting today none-the-less!.....I told myself, going into summer that I was going to "lose weight"...have I?...NO!....I told myself I was going to start cooking & eating healthy...have I?...NO!....& I told myself I was going to start "exercising"...have I?...No!..........Well, the time has come! No more procrastinating!!!.....I signed up for WeightWatchers (on-line), had my husband buy a terrific treadmill & have stocked the house with healthy food.
From this Sunday on, I will be posting my progress....my weight loss per week, delicious low-cal recipes & my exercise for the week.....I will not be posting my starting weight however, since I am just not that "brave"!!....Let's just say I am a very "chubby", 50 year old lady!,... who needs to loose a lot of weight!....I am just so tired of "weight" being such an issue in my life!...Don't get me wrong...I am a very happy, confident person, who is surrounded by a wonderful family & very supportive "in-shape" friends!... friends & family that love me & that think I'm beautiful, no matter what the scale says.
With all that said though, I know this is something I need to do for myself & nobody but me can do it!....So this, "Sunday morning" is "My Time".....my time to start becoming the fit person I know I can be!......Here's to a healthy week for us all!......Love, Heidi
Note: Donna at Donna's-In The Attic is having a "Yo-Yo Challenge" tomorrow.....visit her site for all the details!....see you there!

That's one very nice picture, and just perfect for this post!
Good luck! It's a battle for a lot of people. And there are always pitfalls. Just do all you can while not in a pitfall! (Mine right now is an ankle/foot/leg that won't allow much activity.) As far as posting your weight? Well, I've always done mine as +X pounds. Like +20 or +40. The real number is usually just too horrible to look at!
Good afternoon! Thank you so much for stopping by to see me. You know what, I understand completely what you're saying! I do well, then I mess up, then I do well again. But I want to encourage you today for your fresh new start! Good for you!
Now you may not want to hear this, but a while back I saw your recipe for the orange pound cake and made it and it was delicious. I made it for our 4th of July lunch. Sorry, just wanted you to know that recipe went into my 'keeper' file!
Have a marvelous week!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)
Congratulations on your healthy decision to lose weight and exercise more. It took me a year and a half but I lost 48 pounds; nice and slow so I know you can do it, too. I love my exercise bicycle and I can watch television while riding. Be kind to yourself and pat yourself on the back for every little accomplishment. Here's to your good health!
Hi! That's one so nice picture, and just beautiful for this post!xoxo
I've thought about doing the exact same thing...not posting my weight...but my progress.
I need to get serious and shed a few pounds...and being accountable might help!
Diane
Heidi Ann: you can do it! :o)
Good luck on your weight loss program. I have had success with weight watchers in the past. I too need to loose weight. Best of luck to you!
Hi, Heidi! I like that photo--it's a great metaphor of sorts for line...there's always bends in the road to challenge us! Wishing you the best with your new healthier out-look challenge! Hubby & I are eating healthier. He has a sweet and is a very appreciative taste-tester...so hard not to keep sweets in the house--LOL! I'm 35, and it's not that I weight much more, but that my body is changing quite a lot, that "little extra" that wasn't there before around the hips, not is...I think my metabolism is changing. Anyway, have fun as you make some new changes, and look forward to hearing how you get on! Happy week, my friend ((HUGS))
Dear Heidi,
thank you for my award - I have started to prepare a post and pass it on...
What a brilliant photo of a road!
Your post made me giggle - you sound just like me... I will start my healthy eating plan today and keep you posted !Carolxx
Oh how lovely to meet you Heidi. You have the most divine blog. I will add you to my 'daily stalking list'... so much inspiration and so little time! Best Wishes for your goal set today... you will receive lots of encouragement in this forum, that's for sure! A-M xx
I had the same resolutions for spring and summer. I changed nutrition at the beginning of this year. However, there were too many in betweens when I left that path. This is why I have not reached my goal/weight loss I aimed at.
Now there are only 2 weeks left until our summer vacation, I have to see what I will be able to during this period.
Good luck to you.
With supportive greetings from Germany!
Anja
You go, Heidi. I will be cheering for you.
I need to do the same thing.
Good luck, I'll be rooting for you! I've started a diet too and running up and down the lane. I don't take too much notice of the scales for me because I have always weighed a lot even when I was a very small dress size, but I really need to lose inches and get fit!
Good for you! I know you can do it!
Hugs,
Donna
Congratulations on your weight loss decision! I am 50+ and having weight issues too. For me, 20 to 30 minutes on the treadmill daily and controlling my food potions works well but I've fallen off the wagon lately. I'm starting over tomorrow though. I wish you well with your weight loss plan and I look forward to reading about your progress.
Good luck, Heidi. You can do it.
Great post. I need to take care of myself also.
Heidi,
It is SO hard isn't it? I need to shed some myself.....Hence the goal to run a half marathon this fall. It seems that I'm always thinking "if only I were 10 pounds lighter". Its my signature quote!
Good luck to you!!!! You can do it!
Love the picture! And I am wishing you much success on your diet! Maybe you will be the inspiration I need to jump of the bandwagon! Oh how I could lose a few pounds! :) Hugs, Rhonda
I love that picture! Congratulations on making the commitment to become healthier! It's so hard in today's society to eat healthy and find time to work out. Just take it one day at a time! :)
Good Morning Heidi,
First, love your blog on YELLOW...I love yellow too. It totally reminds me of sunshine, a much needed part of our lives for mental health and absorption of vitamin D!! Thanks for sharing...
Best of luck on your weight watcher endeavor. Like Colleen said, you can do it! Remember our challenge together back in the late 80's? That was fun doing it together, walking, and skinny haven nights after WW weighing in!
Looking forward to seeing you in khaki pants and white shirt! tee-hee.. All things good your way!
